Matthew Lamp is the founder and principal of Lamp Design Build, LLC, an architect-led design-build firm serving the Northshore, Greater New Orleans, Greater Baton Rouge, and Mississippi Gulf Coast markets since 2006. A Louisiana State University graduate (2005) with more than 19 years of architectural design and construction field experience, Matthew brings an unusually broad depth of expertise to every engagement — from initial planning through final delivery.

As the firm's lead executive, Matthew oversees an integrated practice built on three equal pillars: Architectural Services, Commercial Construction, and Residential Construction. This unified design-build model — coordinating architecture, engineering, and construction under one accountable team — eliminates the miscommunication and cost overruns that arise when design and construction are handled separately.

Matthew specializes in commercial design-build, value engineering, construction planning, infrastructure development, heavy site work, and underground utilities. His value engineering expertise has helped business owners and developers across Louisiana and the Gulf Coast maximize construction ROI — identifying cost-saving substitutions, phasing strategies, and procurement efficiencies at every stage of a project.

A lifelong Northshore resident, Matthew remains directly involved in estimating, design development, client advisory, and project delivery across all of Lamp Design Build's active work — from Ponchatoula and Hammond to the Mississippi Gulf Coast.

Melvin Lamp is a licensed architect with active registrations in Louisiana, Mississippi, and Florida — and the driving design force behind Lamp Design Build, an architect-led design-build firm in Louisiana serving clients across the Gulf Coast from Ponchatoula to the Florida Panhandle.

As principal architect, Melvin leads all architectural services for Lamp Design Build's commercial and residential clients throughout the Northshore, Greater New Orleans, Greater Baton Rouge, Mississippi Gulf Coast, and Florida Panhandle markets. His scope spans programming and schematic design through construction documents, agency submittals, permitting, and project closeout.

His tri-state licensure is a direct business advantage for clients with cross-border projects. Whether a commercial developer is building in Waveland, a retailer is expanding from Hammond to Pensacola, or a property owner needs stamped drawings for a Gulf Coast renovation, Melvin handles it in-house — no referrals, no delays, no hand-off to an unfamiliar architect.

James does the Architectural Drafting for LAMP Design + Build. He graduated from Louisiana Technical College in 2006, and worked as a Project Manager and Draftsman for many years at a high end glass company. His primary responsibility is to turn a customer's dream into a reality by developing blueprints through his proficiency with AutoCAD and his familiarity with all types of residential constructions, scalings, and dimensions. In James freetime he loves building things in his shop, working in his yard, and spoiling his wife.

Taylor Martin is the operational backbone of Lamp Design Build, bringing six years of hands-on experience keeping projects moving efficiently from kickoff to closeout. As Operations Manager, Taylor oversees project coordination and scheduling across Lamp's architectural, commercial construction, and residential construction services — ensuring every client, contractor, and deadline stays aligned.

With a keen eye for detail and a client-first approach, Taylor manages vendor and subcontractor relationships across the Northshore, Greater New Orleans, Greater Baton Rouge, and Mississippi Gulf Coast markets. Her work behind the scenes is what allows Lamp Design Build's architect-led teams to deliver design-build projects on time and on budget.

Taylor's fluency in permitting processes and code compliance gives clients confidence that every project — whether a commercial buildout, industrial warehouse, or design-build renovation — moves through approvals smoothly. Her six years with Lamp have made her an indispensable resource for clients navigating the complexities of construction in Louisiana and the Gulf South.
